Come prepared to spend 2-3 hours outside combining fun and education. It is recommended that you bring your own snacks and water and sunblock if needed. Bathrooms and a water fountain are nearby. You also have use of the playground that includes a swing set and picnic tables. The park requires you to pay a parking fee of $2, or have a season pass, this is payable at the entrance booth.

Enjoy camping under the stars along the Alcovy River while enjoying a weekend packed with Sensory Meditations, beginner Chi Gong, hiking, Geocache adventures and so much more! It is sure to be a therapeutic relaxing weekend getaway from the busy city! Conveniently located near Highway 36 and Highway 212.

]]>Take a break from city life and enjoy a rejuvenating weekend getaway. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Factory Shoals Park, where you can spend a night camping under the mesmerizing, twinkling stars, just a short drive southeast of Atlanta. Enjoy a weekend packed with Sensory Walking Meditations along meandering nature trails, beginner Chi gong, and even Naturalist hikes along challenging riverside trails, and Geocache adventures! We will finish off our nights with a campfire and ghost stories from the local area.
The park has an abundance of flora and fauna making it an ideal location for bird watching and photography. Beginner trails and rugged hiking trails are all scenic, including features of granite outcroppings, mature forests along the river, as well as ruins from 19th century water powered factories that once lined the riverbanks. The park has a historic site marker and rich with war history. As the soothing sounds of the river lulls you to sleep, dont forget to look up at the night sky where you might even spot a shooting star from the Orionid and Taurid meteor showers.
You will need to provide your own tent and camping gear. RV sites are also available. The campground has bathrooms and showers near the campsites. If you like fishing, be sure to bring your fishing pole and try catching your own dinner! You will need to have a current GA fishing license.

]]>Terrific Trees: Children will each be assigned a tree, learn facts and play games as if they are trees to inspire a love of nature that will last a lifetime. Children are welcomed to come dressed in camouflage, or browns and/or greens.
Amazing Animals: Children will each be assigned a forest animal and play games engage their senses as if they are they animal to inspire an appreciation for wildlife. Children are welcome to come dressed as their favorite animal.
Dragon Rescue: Children will be guided through an adventure to rescue āDragon eggsā. Working as a group, children will read a treasure map to find and collect toy eggs. This will help teach children about conservation and habitat. Children are welcome to come dressed as scientists.

If you are able to join from an outdoor setting, come dressed so that you can remain in the current weather conditions for 2 hours or more. This may includes items such as a hat, sunglasses, sunblock, bug repellent, a rain jacket, a coat, a scarf, gloves and drinking water.
Also be mindful of your environmental conditions and hazards, potential accidents and of your health conditions and not engage in any activities that may cause harm. ]]>Participants should come dressed and prepared for spending +2hours in the current weather. When youāre preparing for your nature immersion session, consider if you need any of the following: hat, sunglasses, rain coat, blanket or beach towel to sit on, drinking water, bug repellant, and possibly an epipen (if you have severe allergies).
The walk will be rescheduled in the event of heavy rain, but we will continue in gentle rain. Each vehicle is required to pay a $2 parking fee to the park, or have a season pass. You will receive a confirmation email with directions on where we meet.
